Desiring to get a fine project of a large revenue house he announced a competition. Rachau K.K., the architect of several mansions, villas and other buildings won this competition. In the years 1878-1879 he architected the existing building. Nicholas Roerich lived in there in 1905-1906. The famous architects of Saint-Petersburg N.I. Alekseev and A.A. Polishchuk lived in this house in 1900-1910. 1st rank сaptain N.N. Schreiber the armourer has worked here in 1918-1920.
